Underwriting Opportunities at KYRS



What is Underwriting?


Underwriting is the contribution of some form of consideration in exchange for recognition in an on-air announcement. KYRS offers very reasonable underwriting rates to get your business name mentioned on-the-air.

Underwriting is a great way to support independent media in Spokane, while letting listeners know about the service you provide to the community.

Underwriting Rates:


Local Programs: $10 per announcement, $100 minimum contract.


News Programs: $15 per announcement, $150 minimum contract


All agreements include a 10% discount for a six month commitment, a 20% discount for a twelve month commitment.

Underwriting Packages:


All agreements include a 10% discount for a six month commitment, a 20% discount for a twelve month commitment.

Non-profit organizations are eligible for an additional 10% discount.


News Programming Package

Includes on-air announcements three times per week at the beginning of peak listening news programming. The three announcements will be rotated between the beginning and end of Democracy Now! (airing 8:00 A.M. And 5:00 P.M. M-F) and the beginning and end of Free Speech Radio News (airing at 4:00 P.M. M-F).


$15 per announcement, $150 minimum contract.

$972 for six months

$1728 for twelve months



Run of Schedule Package

Includes on-air announcements three times per week. Announcement will air during regular programming between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. seven days per week.


$10 per announcement, $100 minimum contract

$648 for six months

$1152 for twelve months



Local Programming Package

Includes on air announcements once weekly to air with the locally produced program of your choice.


$10 per announcement, $50 minimum

$216 for six months

$384 for twelve months
