Next Show: November 29 @ 9 am - Al-Anon/Alateen
Next Saturday I'll have Al-Anon/Alateen in the studio. They are a worldwide fellowship that offers a program of recovery for the families and friends of alcoholics, whether or not the alcoholic recognizes the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help. Alateen is part of the Al-Anon fellowship designed for the younger relatives and friends of alcoholics through the teen years.
Nonprofit Spokane airs every Saturday @ 9am PT live on KYRS
There is no greater reward than doing good. This show spotlights nonprofits that do just that. I talk with nonprofits, directors, volunteers, & board members to learn more about their organization's mission. Nonprofits are a mix of local, regional and national. The show's purpose is to educate and connect listeners with nonprofits making an impact.
About Me: I have a MS in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy from Bay Path University. My BS is Computer Science with Saint Leo University. I also have an AA in Human Relations and Financial Management from the Community College of the Air Force.
Volunteers of the Week
I have a new segment called Volunteers of the Week. With your help, I would like to recognize and read a short summary about the great things your volunteers are doing each week.
Send me a short 100 word or less summary about who your volunteer is, what they do for you, and why they should be recognized as a volunteer of the week. I will even send them a certificate of recognition. It's a small way to say thanks for all the great things volunteers do for us. I'll dedicate about 5 minutes each week for this so I'm thinking it will be about 3 people I can recognize each week. Send your volunteer of the week nominations to NonprofitSpokane@KYRS.org and I'll start recognizing your standout volunteers each week.
