#1. Thin Air Community Radio is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator. This is a volunteer position 5-15 hours per week. This volunteer position coordinates KYRS' many volunteers and especially those doing outreach to the community.
Experience & Requirements:
Good communication skills. Good networking abilities. Independent work. Demonstrated interest in media democracy and a commitment to the KYRS mission. Must be flexible, work well with others, & extremely detail orientated. Excellent organizational skills and persistent follow-up are essential.
Essential Functions:
-Assist in the creation of meaningful and productive roles in which volunteers might serve.
-Assist in recruitment of volunteers from the community.
-Provide a central coordinating point for effective volunteer management within the station.
-Encourage underserved/foreign language/multi-ethnic groups for volunteer involvement.
Duties may include:
-Ensure sufficient number of volunteers are assigned to outreach events.
- Maintain records on each volunteer.
- Create volunteer position descriptions.
- Arrange and organize volunteer orientations and training.
