All submittals should include a draft of the announcement. Also include your contact information (your phone number, email address and web address, if any.) If your organization is a nonprofit or government agency, please mention this in your submittal.

Keep the draft short: 4 or 5 sentences. Include essential information: Who, What, When, Where and a phone number that listeners can call for more information. Web addresses are good, but remember that many listeners don't have easy access to the internet. Include pronunciation help as necessary.

Here are two examples of acceptable PSA drafts:

Event
The Bubblegum Club is holding its annual All Day Picnic at Candy Park in Spokane on Saturday November 32nd. The pony rides, potato salads and face painting begin at noon and continue until midnight. Proceeds from the Picnic will support Bubblegum Homeless Charities. For more information call The Bubblegum Club at (509) 555-0000 or visit www.bubblegum.org.

The Ice Cream and Cake Preservation Society offers free cake-baking classes every Saturday at the Preservation Kitchen in downtown Spokane. Advanced registration is required. For more information please call Bruce Butter at (509) 555-0000.

There is no guarantee that your draft will actually be used in an announcement. We are not able to provide air time for everyone! Keep in mind that short, timely, well written drafts will be more likely to reach the airwaves. Editing is often required. You will not be consulted about any edits.
